April Meeting Notes

Our April meeting was Sunday April 18th. Here is a recap of what we discussed:

Accio Books - Thank you to everyone who helped to make Accio Books a success this year! Our chapter collected 117 books this year. The HPA organization as a whole collected 41,415 books, which is a ridiculously awesome amount of books!

Change Drive for Haiti - Our change drive for Haiti will be wrapping up on May 16th. We are collecting our spare change and donating it to Partners in Health for Haitian relief.

Magical Acts of Warmth - This campaign is going well! We are knitting "snuggles" for the SPCA (http://www.snugglesproject.org/) and afghan squares for Warm Up America (http://www.warmupamerica.org/). We have decided to continue this project through the end of the summer.

Earth Day - Earth Day is this Thursday, April 22nd. We are not all going to be together to do something as a chapter, but we did come up with some small things that we can do on our own.
- Stop Global Warming Virtual March - Sign up to join the virtual march
here, http://www.stopglobalwarming.org/.
- Play in the garden!
- Disneyearth's Oceans - This movie comes out on Earth Day, and if you go see it in the opening week, Disneyearth will make a donation in your honor to help save coral reefs.

Next Meeting - Our next meeting will be Sunday May 16th.
