Holiday Mail for Heroes - The bulk of the meeting was spent doing cards for the Red Cross' Holiday Mail for Heroes campaign. If you would like to do cards for this campaign, the address to send them to is:

HPA Campaigns
Equality FTW - The HPA's fundraising campaign wrapped up Saturday night, raising $95K! (The original goal was $50K.) Thank you to everyone who donated and/or helped spread the word.
Wizard Rock The Vote - An important part of this campaign is voter education. We will be updating this blog every so often between now and the November election with interesting links and whatnot.

Knitting Projects - We are knitting snuggles for the Snuggles Project (http://www.snugglesproject.org) as well as afghan squares for Warm Up America (http://www.warmupamerica.org). We have been working on this for a while, and we have set a deadline of September 8th.
Craft Fair - We will be participating in the craft fair at Marple Christian Church again this year. This year's craft fair is on October 20th.
Wizard Rock The Vote - Even though our local wizard rock concert has passed, this campaign is continuing up until the November election. It is not just about registering voters (which is very important!); it is also about educating ourselves on the candidates and various issues. Even if you are under 18, you can still participate in this campaign. You can still learn about different issues as well as encourage those who are of age to vote.

Accio Books Postponed
The HPA has decided to postpone the Accio Books campaign. Instead of having it in August/September, the next Accio Books will be in March 2013. Hopefully, this delay will only make Accio Books even bigger and better than ever!

Chapter Knitting Projects - We are knitting snuggles for the Snuggles Project (http://www.snugglesproject.org/) as well as afghan squares for Warm Up America (http://www.warmupamerica.org/). This is going really well, and we have set an end of summer deadline.
Wizard Rock The Vote - Wizard Rock The Vote season is here! We will be registering voters at the wizard rock concert this Monday July 9th at the Ridley Community Center. Seen and Unforeseen, Lauren Fairweather, and the Whomping Willows will be playing!
Harry Potter Summer Camp - This is the week of July 23rd in Middletown, DE, and a few of us will be volunteering!
Accio Books - This year's Accio Books campaign will run from mid-August through the end of September. We are currently coming up with ideas for this, so more info soon!

Hunger Is Not A Game

Our March meeting was yesterday, and here are the notes:
Hunger Is NOT A Game - Hunger Is Not A Game is the HPA's Hunger Games campaign. We are working to bring down the Capitol as well as fight hunger in our own District. In non-HG speak, we are working to fight hunger globally as well as locally. For the global part, the HPA is working with Oxfam's GROW Campaign. More on this soon!

Valentines - We made our Valentines for Fair Acres Nursing Home at today's meeting. Thank you to everyone who helped!
Knitting Projects - We are about to start our annual chapter knitting projects. As in the past few years, we will be knitting for the Snuggles Project (http://www.snugglesproject.org) and Warm Up America (http://www.warmupamerica.org).

Valentines - We made our Valentines for Fair Acres Nursing Home at today's meeting. Thank you to everyone who helped!
Knitting Projects - We are about to start our annual chapter knitting projects. As in the past few years, we will be knitting for the Snuggles Project (http://www.snugglesproject.org) and Warm Up America (http://www.warmupamerica.org).
Upcoming HPA Campaigns - The HPA has some campaigns coming up over the course of 2012 that we hope to participate in - a Hunger Games Campaign, Accio Books, and Wizard Rock the Vote.
March Meeting - Our March meeting will be on Saturday March 3rd.

January Meeting Notes
This morning's meeting was dedicated to brainstorming and planning for the upcoming year. Some great ideas were discussed! Two chapter projects that we will be doing shortly are a Valentine's project as well as a knitting project. We will be doing the Valentine's project at our February meeting, which will be on Saturday February 11.
