The global HPA has a couple of campaigns at the moment.
Fan Works Are Fair Use - Do you support fan fiction, fandom music, and other forms of fan art? Do you think fan art is a positive part of fandom? Then click that link and fill out the short form to receive updates on this campaign.
Road to Hogwarts - Road to Hogwarts is a charity walk/run that you can do from anywhere. It is a 52-mile virtual race from Aberdeen to Dufftown, Scotland (where we estimate Hogwarts to be). Participants can run, walk, cycle, or wheel and have from July 1 to October 1 to complete the challenge. Even if you don't normally exercise, going for a walk a couple times a week can get you to 52 miles by October 1, so I strongly encourage everyone to participate! The cost is $35, and there is a medal.
July Project - At the meeting, keeping with a Fourth of July/patriotic theme, we wrote letters to soldiers as part of Operation Write Home. We have written letters for Operation Write Home several times over the years, but this is the last time. OWH is ending on August 1 due to a decreased number of military personnel serving overseas. This is a positive thing!
Ongoing - We are knitting/crocheting scarves for veterans.

June Meeting Notes
Our June meeting was yesterday, and here is the recap:
Accio Books - Accio Books 2015 has concluded. We set a goal for our chapter to collect 100 books, and we collected 135. Thank you for helping us pass our goal! HPA chapters and members donated 64,909 books worldwide. Wow, that's a lot of books!
World Wide Knit In Public Day - Yesterday was World Wide Knit in Public Day, so we were knitting and crocheting at the meeting. We are making scarves for veterans. :)
Next Meeting - Our next meeting is Saturday July 11.

At this morning's meeting, the conversation was mainly about Accio Books. The campaign wraps up in a few weeks (June 2), and we are finding homes for all of the books that we have collected. We also made bookmarks to put in some of the books.

April Meeting Notes
Accio Books - We are off to a really good start for Accio Books! Most of the books that we are collecting will be donated locally, and we will also be shipping a few of our favorites to the Apparating Library in Kansas City. AB runs until May 31, so if you have books to donate, you can still bring them to the May meeting.
